How do I get a beta?

Please note that any world you open on the RTX beata will not be available to open in other Minecraft betas or non-beta versions of the game. We strongly recommend that you copy any world you want to play in the RTX beta and use the copy of the world instead.


If you are already in Minecraft for Win 10 Beta, follow these instructions:


Open the Xbox Insider Hub app
Inside the app, click on the open box icon in the left sidebar
On the Insider content screen, you will see just one Minecraft for Win 10 beta offer under Win. Click on it.
In this screen, click on Manage.

In the Manage screen, you will have a radio button that will allow you to choose from a fully beta program to enroll in RTX Beta or Unenroll. Select RTX Beta and click on the button on the left
To download the RTX beta you may need to uninstall Minecraft and reinstall it from the store. Please backup any world you install because the world will be deleted when you uninstall the game.


To get ray tracing in Minecraft you should have access to the RTX beta on Windows 10.If you are not already part of the Windows 10 beta for Minecraft, you will need to install and open the Xbox Insider Hub app on PC to get ray tracing.Once you have done this, select Windows 10 Beta and then click Join. This should result in a pop-up of three radio buttons including the RTX beta which is the option you want to select.

For those who are already in Minecraft for Windows 10 beta, you need to open and manage the beta in the Xbox Insider Hub. This should allow you to enroll on the RTX beta in the management screen. Nvidia mentions that you may need to uninstall and install Minecraft to be able to download the RTX beta. If this happens, it is highly recommended that you want to keep any and all of the world back.

When you have completed any of the above methods, you will know that you are in the right beta by looking at the release number 1.15.0.8 in the lower right corner of the screen.
