Anak Krakatau decays in Krakatoa volcano Indonesia

Scientists said Saturday that Indonesia's Anak Krakatau volcano plunged a column into the sky at 500 meters in the longest eruption.
Indonesia says the volcano continues to disperse lava even hours after the initial eruption. Two years after the eruption, a similar explosion caused a tsunami on the Sumatra and Java coasts, killing 430 people.

Closed-circuit TV from Indonesia's Center for Volcanoes and Geological Disaster Reduction showed lava flare on Friday night.
No casualties have been reported and a Level 2 alert remains, second-highest on a scale of four.
The agency said the volcano was continuously erupting until Saturday morning. A level two warning situation remained, the second highest on a scale of four.
The 2018 eruption caused tsunamis off the coasts of Sumatra and Java, killing 430 people.
Anak Krakatau, which means Child of Krakatau, is the offspring of the famous Krakatau volcano, whose monumental eruption in 1883 triggered a period of global cooling.
The eruption was so violent that by then the volcanic island had sunk into the sea. More than 35,000 people lost their lives.
The sea between Sumatra and Java, like the rest of the island's countries, sits on the Pacific Ring of Fire, the most geologically active region on Earth where volcanic eruptions and earthquakes occur frequently.
