Vermont police search 24-year-old man for suspect in underhill shooting

Vermont State Police are investigating the shooting in Underhill on Wednesday morning and are seeking help to locate the suspect.
It happened at 50 Medo Lane at 7:30 am. Police say 24-year-old Evan LaBonte of Fairfax shot a 29-year-old man several times in a car outside the home and then left the scene. LaBonet allegedly left the walking area - officials are not sure in which direction he was traveling or if he had a vehicle.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was rushed to UVM Medical Center. His condition is unknown.
Police do not know in which direction Labon ran or if he had access to any vehicle. Labonte is described as a thin white male, who was last seen wearing a red sweater and low-hanging jeans. We have been told that he can still be armed with handguns and should be considered armed and dangerous, so do not contact him.
Police are asking the public to stay alert and call 911 if Labonte is spotted.Labonte is described as a slim, white man, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall, 130 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a red sweater and low-hanging jeans.
There is a large police presence at the intersection of Route 15 and Meadow Lane, with several agencies responding. WCAX has a crew on the scene and they say heavily armed officers appear to be searching the area.Police are also asking the public to avoid Meadow Lane while the investigation is on.State police are being asked to contact 802-878-7111 with any information.
