Chris Pratt welcomes Katherine Schwarzenegger first child together, Patrick Schwarzenegger confirms
New mama alert! Katherine Schwarzenegger has given birth to her and husband Chris Pratt's first child together.
Congratulations are in order for Katherine Schwarzenegger and Chris Pratt!
Schwarzenegger's younger brother Patrick, 26, confirmed the couple had welcomed their first baby together in a video obtained by Entertainment Tonight.
"They're doing great, just got her a little gift," he told a reporter in a Santa Barbara, California, parking lot on Sunday while holding up a package wrapped in a pink bow when asked how mom and baby were doing.
The 26-year-old's brother, Patrick Schwarzenegger, confirmed the news in an exclusive video obtained by ET on Sunday.
He also said "thank you" when congratulated on becoming an uncle – Katherine, the oldest of the Schwarzenegger children, is the first to welcome a child. Pratt shares 7-year-old son Jack with his ex-wife, Anna Faris.
On Aug. 1, Pratt, 41, gave a shout-out on his Instagram story to Schwarzenegger, 30, who hiked with him to the top of a mountain despite being so far along in her pregnancy.
While Patrick did not mention when the baby arrived, a source tells ET that Pratt’s car was spotted at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, California, on Friday afternoon. ET has reached out to reps for Katherine and Chris for comment.
Katherine's father, Arnold Schwarzenegger, mother, Maria Shriver, and siblings, Christina and Christopher, were snapped visiting her house. The clan later left with Arnold smoking a cigar as he headed to the car.
"Ready to pop, still don't stop," the "Jurassic World" star wrote, along with a picture of his wife and her prodigious baby bump. "Kinda grateful it didn't go down on the trail tho to be real."
Schwarzenegger and Pratt married last June in California and announced their pregnancy in April. In February, Pratt said Schwarzenegger would make a great mom.
The latest addition to the family joins 40-year-old Pratt's 7-year-old son, Jack, whom he shares with his ex-wife, actress Anna Faris.
Pratt and 30-year-old Schwarzenegger got married last June in an intimate ceremony in Montecito, California. In April, a source told ET that the couple was expecting their first child together.
"Chris and Katherine are extremely happy to be pregnant with their first child," the source said. "The couple knew going into their relationship that having kids together was important to them, so when they found out the news, they were extremely happy. Although Katherine was busy promoting her book in the beginning of her pregnancy, she now has time to be at home and get things ready for when the new addition arrives. Chris is so excited."
“She has changed my life for the better in so many ways,” Pratt told E!’s "In the Room."
He added that Schwarzenegger has already been a great stepmom and that his heart, soul and son are safe with her.
“Chris and Katherine have had an incredible first year of marriage," the source said. "The couple plans to celebrate their first wedding anniversary with something small as their baby is set to arrive soon."
“She’s, God willing, going to be a great mom one day," he continued. "She’s got great parents, great siblings. She fills in all my many deficits.”
"Chris and Katherine are thankful for their alone time recently as it has allowed them to enjoy the pregnancy together, giving them a forced sense of time to relax and prepare," the source added about how they've been doing amid the coronavirus pandemic. "They know their baby is coming soon and can't wait to welcome their new addition."
Clearly, Schwarzenegger's famous family is also incredibly excited about the couple's first baby together. Her father, Arnold Schwarzenegger, appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in May and talked about the exciting news.
"Think about this for a second... there's three gene pools that you can do," he pointed out. "There's Kennedy, there's Schwarzenegger, and Pratt. We can do anything. We can go and solve the Cuban missile crisis... We can go and train dinosaurs. I mean, think about it!"
ET spoke with Maria Shriver in May, and she also talked about her eldest daughter being pregnant.
"I'm really proud of her. Obviously she and Chris are super happy," she said. "They're a blessing to each other."
She added that much of the fun of her quarantine life has taken place in the kitchen, which keeps her "calm in this crazy time.""It was my New Year's resolution to get more comfortable in the kitchen with cooking. I've always loved baking, but I definitely want to learn more in the cooking department. And to learn non-intimidating and simple recipes."
Chris Pratt talks baby news, life in quarantine on video call with mother-in-law Maria Shriver During his appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" in May, Schwarzenegger's father, Arnold, marveled at the genes of his future grandchild, whose maternal grandmother is a member of the Kennedy family.
"The Kennedy, the Schwarzenegger and Pratt, I mean, we can do anything," he said with a grin. "We can go and solve the Cuban Missile Crisis. We can go and kill predators with our bare hands, and we go and training the dinosaurs. I mean think about it. That is a lot of the power here.”
