1 killed, 1 arrested in Lodi City in California restaurant after stabbing


LODI, California —  One person was killed and a suspect was arrested after a stabbing at a Lodi restaurant Friday evening, police said.

Lodi police arrested anyone suspected of stabbing a man who dined with them in a restaurant on Friday evening. According to police, the two were eating together at Black Bear Diner on West Kettleman Lane around 6 p.m.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Two men were dining together when one stabbed the other multiple times, police said. It’s unclear what led to the stabbing.


Photos from the scene show an overturned table and chair, with food and money on the floor. There is also a bloodstain on the floor.

At one point during the meal, a dispute ensued between the two and witnesses reported that one of the diners saw the other man with a large knife, according to the Sergeant. Ricardo Garcia.


According to Lodi police, the victim had multiple wounds and later died in a local hospital.

Police say the unidentified assailants were still at the scene when officers arrived and were arrested at dinner without incident.

No one else was injured.

Police are still trying to establish a motive in stabbing.

The diner closed for the night as officers investigated the scene.
