July 31 Brewers-Cardinals game postponed due to positive COVID-19 test
Updated 10:40 AM CT: Major League Baseball made an official announcement regarding the Cardinals’ positive tests and the team’s series with the Brewers. The teams will play a doubleheader on Sunday.
Major League Baseball's quest to play in its layoff season has taken another hit.Friday's game between the St. Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee Brewers has been postponed as two players tested positive for coronavirus on the Cardinals.
The game brewers would have been the home opener. Instead, it has been rescheduled as part of a traditional double header on Sunday.Saturday's game between the two teams will be scheduled.
We support Major League Baseball decision and allow today to postpone the game and play their home opener, Brewers president and GM David Stearns said in a written statement. The health and safety of our players and employees is our top priority.

That brings the total number of postponed games this week to 30 due to positive COVID-19 tests, with the Miami Marlins and Philadelphia Phillies each missing seven piece.
This is the first positive test since last Thursday, out of an outbreak of marlin earlier this week that infected 19 personnel.
The results of the Marlins outbreak required six teams to make the game, a challenge in 60 days of play in 66 days, the goal of ending the regular season on 27 September.
