Ori and the Will of the Wisps is Coming to Switch Today

Much like its predecessor, Orient and Will, is actually coming to the Switch and is being released later on eShop today.

Even though Moon Studios previously stated that bringing Orient and Will of the Wisps to the switch would be an incredibly lengthy task, it seems that the steps required to port the game to the platform were not entirely impossible, Because this year's popular metrophadea is making its way to Nintendo's console today.

From the creators of Orie and the Blind Forest comes the highly-anticipated sequel, Orient and the Will of the Wisps. Go on an all new adventure in a vast and exotic world where you have to collide with your enemies and have challenging puzzles to discover the true destiny of the Orient on your quest.

Immerse yourself in a hand-crafted narrative experience with deeply emotional storytelling, strikingly beautiful environments, and a stunning soundtrack.

Master new skills to guide Ori through a journey of untold danger using newly acquired spirit weapons, spells, and attacks. Utilize an all-new shard system to power-up Ori’s newfound abilities.

Face the biggest bosses and seek help from a huge cast of new characters, who will help you uncover the mysterious fate of Orie.

Race to the top of the leaderboards in the all-new Spirit Trials mode where players dash, burrow, grapple, and leap to high scores in unique speed-run challenges throughout the game.

As the final announcement in today’s Nintendo Direct Mini, Moon Studios and Xbox Game Studios revealed that Ori and the Will of the Wisps would be making its way to the Switch. Best of all, the latest iteration of the game will be hitting the eShop later today, which is something that I don’t think anyone would have expected when they woke up this morning.

Much like the first game, Ori and the Blind Forest, which came to Switch last year, Microsoft has continued to show a willingness to port games on platforms other than those that they manufacture. Considering how much more impressive Will of the Wisps is compared to its predecessor when it comes to the overall visuals and animation work, I’m curious to see how many corners Moon Studios had to cut in order to bring the game over to Switch. For those who don’t remember, Will of the Wisps had some pretty notable struggles at launch on Xbox One. Hopefully, those issues don’t transition to the Switch iteration as well.

Lastly, but certainly not least, the Orient and the Will of Wisps on Switch will get a physical collector's version via iam8bit. Right now pre-orders are available for the great looking bundle, but it will set you back $ 149.99. Still, if you are a hardcore Orient fan, this version may be worth it.

You can check out the launch trailer for Ori and the Will of the Wisps for Switch down below. And if you’d prefer to hold off on playing the game, assuming you haven’t done so already, Moon Studios has already confirmed that they’ll be bringing the title to Xbox Series X as well.
