Acer Predator and Acer Aspire 5 now 20% in Prime Day deals

Amazon’s annual shopping event, Prime Day, is full of some very big savings, but the biggest ones are always for a limited time.

If you’re after a new gaming laptop, this i7 Acer Predator Triton 700 is marked down to $2,499 from $4,599.08, a saving of $2,100.08.

An affordable laptop gets even more budget-friendly. The Acer Aspire 5 is on sale for $279 @ Amazon during Prime Day. Which means for a limited time, you can get the laptop that we praised for it's solid performance and strong audio for under $300.

Powered by an AMD Ryzen 3 processor and AMD Vega 3 graphics, the Aspire 5 is a reliable work horse. It is an ideal laptop for a student or professional looking for a reliable laptop for work and play. And best of all, you can upgrade storage through the bottom panel, which adds even more value.

At the time of writing, the deal is 16% claimed, so get in fast. You can see it on the Amazon Australia store here.

You need to be a Prime Member to get the discount, but you can sign up for a 30-day free trial and still get the discount. Happy shopping!

Sure, the Acer Aspire 5 isn't as powerful as the flagship, but for the price, it's a hard laptop to ignore. While we have not reviewed this exact model, the model we evaluated has a lot of winning qualities.

In terms of design, the aluminum-clad laptop strongly resembles a MacBook. Measuring 14.3 x 9.9 x 0.7 inches and weighing 3.7 pounds, it's lighter than the Asus VivoBook S15 (S533F) which comes in at 4 pounds, 14.1 x 9.2 x 0.6 inches. The 15.6-inch, 1920 x 1080 is plenty bright at 258 nits with solid color reproduction of 63% of the sRGB gamut.

The Aspire 5 had mixed results during our performance tests, but had no problem handling multitasking duties.

Our review unit managed to outpace the mainstream laptop average (22:21) during the Handbrake video-editing test, taking 21 minutes and 55 seconds to transcode a 4K video to 1080p. And in terms of battery life, the notebook lasted 11 hours and 29 minutes on the Laptop Mag battery life test.

Now that Amazon Prime Day 2020 has offically kicked off, we expect to see tons of deals on the industry’s best notebook PCs. Be sure to bookmark our Prime Day laptop deals page for this year’s exclusive deals on laptops.
